#SIZZLE 2017 LA PRIDE Volunteer Sign Ups!

Thank you so much for volunteering your time to be part of #SIZZLE! It takes a lot of amazing people to put on an amazing event! And that's where you come in! We couldn't do this without you. This is a fun and collaborative way to celebrate pride without alcohol and drugs! So come on down, step right up and strut your stuff! We are limited on passes. It is first-come, first-served. So sign up today!
Volunteers will get
• Free Entry to the Festival AFTER completion of 3 or 4 hour shift.
• 1 #SIZZLE! T-Shirt to wear while on duty.
• 1 $5 Starbucks card to assist with refreshments
• Snacks and waters will be provided.
(Note - Unfortunately, due to limited availability, for Thursday and Friday shifts, we will not be able to provide T-Shirts. And for Thursday shifts, we will not be able to provide Starbucks gift cards.)
Please also take note of our Take A Sober Stand contingency in the #RESISTMARCH. (www.takeasoberstand.org ) Strut your stuff and let the world know why you are taking a sober stand. Your volunteer coordinators are Fallon and Alexis. Please treat them with respect. They will be providing you with information as we go into #SIZZLE and helping to coordinate your positions. If you need to use the restroom or need anything during your shift, you can reach out to one of them for assistance. Also, you will need to check in with them upon entering the festival for assignment.
Your duties will include assisting in the various booths with the carnival games, helping to keep the #SIZZLE area tidy, filling in any gaps where needed. There cannot be any consumption of alcohol or other substances while in the #SIZZLE area or while wearing your #SIZZLE T-Shirt. Remember, the purpose of #SIZZLE for community members to enjoy pride alcohol and drug free. There will be people there that are sober or who simply do not consume alcohol. Most importantly, please have fun! This event is for you too! See below for more details.

**NOTICES**
1. The number rule is to have FUN!!!! #SIZZLE- A Carnival of Attraction is intended to show that people can enjoy pride without alcohol and drugs. We will be an example for so many to showcase how good life can be without drugs and alcohol. So, let’s have some fun!
2. As #SIZZLE approaches, you will be provided specific instructions on how to check in for your commitment. So please be sure to include an email address or phone number!!!
3. Please be sure to include an email address or phone number!!! This is so important, it bears repeating. Your phone number and email will only be available for use by the #SIZZLE Planning Committee.
4. In addition to your free pass for working your FULL shift, you will also be given a $5 gift card for Starbucks! Enjoy refreshments on us! OMG! YUMZ! (Note- you only get one card per day as we are limited on supplies. So, if you work multiple shifts, please plan accordingly.)
5. Participation is open to anyone. However, please keep in mind that this is an alcohol free area and volunteers are not permitted to consume alcohol before or during your shift or while wearing our SIZZLE shirts at any time. Please be respectful of our cause. Thank you.
6. Volunteer at your own risk. None of the sponsors, producers or organizers are responsible for any injuries to you while in, volunteering for, working in, or passing through the #SIZZLE area.
7. We are not associated with Christopher Street West (CSW), the producers of LA Pride. All questions and comments regarding #SIZZLE should go through the #SIZZLE Planning Committee (the West Hollywood Project, the Tweakers Project or the Los Angeles LGBT Center’s Addiction Recovery Services). 8. All general #SIZZLE volunteers are required to wear the #SIZZLE volunteer T-Shirts while on shift.
9. All SIZZLE participating agencies are encouraged to wear a #SIZZLE T-Shirt while on shift. The non-profit agencies do not receive the Subway gift cards.
