Coffee Hour Hosts and Hostesses for 10:15 Service
Coffee Hour is one of the welcoming ministries of St Michaels! Your hospitality is a gift to all of us and greatly appreciated!! Some suggestions for hosting are:
Keep it as simple –please ask for help if you need it!
If you like to bake-make it or you may choose to bring bought items.
Generally 40- 50 people attend this fellowship.
Bring food for children’s table that will appeal to them.
Coffee/Hot Water will be ready (prepared by the coffee team who comes in earlier).
Clean up is important and we do compost in marked containers in the kitchen.
Set up:
1. Long table in the middle for goodies. There are table cloths in the kitchen if you want. There are napkins, plastic cups and/or small plates in the wooden cabinet by the second door.
2. Coffee is set up with church mugs under the kitchen window. The hot water for tea and tea bags are also put here.
3. You will find milk and cream set up in the large refrigerator. These go out right as coffee hour begins. Place them on table next to wall closest to the coffee service.
4. Kid’s table is along the wall nearest the door to the playground.
5. Keep an eye on the food table and clean up empty dishes and/or put more out if available. The kid’s table food disappears in a hurry!
Clean up:
1. Turn on dish washer at the start of coffee hour and put dishwasher tray out near the sink for coffee cups. Fill a sink with warm soapy water.
2. When dishwasher tray gets full run the dishwasher with very little soap (size of a quarter).
3. At the end the dishwasher needs to be empty, dishes put away, sinks cleared, coffee pots cleaned and tables washed.
4. Please wrap all foods and label with dates if you do not take them home. Please consolidate cover the milk and cream carafes and replace in large refrigerator.
5. Save any leftover coffee for Loaves and Fishes Program-(plastic jugs in cabinet top shelf above cutting boards). Put these in large refrigerator.
6. Shake out tablecloths and put away. If you are unable to wash and return any dirty linens please leave them on the counter.
7. PLEASE BE SURE DISHWASHER IS TURNED OFF BEFORE YOU LEAVE. Thank you for hosting!!
