What to Expect:
Volunteer work at the Compost Facility will include assisting the site supervisor in the removal of trash and other contaminants from compost piles, learning where such contamination comes from, and brainstorming solutions to prevent future contamination.
Other volunteer work can consist of the removal of unwanted invasive plant species around the facility to prevent the spread of these plants and their seeds around the university. Volunteers may also choose to assist in any facility improvement projects that may be available.
The Compost Site does not have an official address. The entrance is located at the following GPS Coordinates: 35.937570, -83.945176. You'll find the unmarked road off of Cherokee Trail across from UT Medical Center.
What to Wear & Bring:
Wear some clothes that can handle a little dirt (including closed-toed shoes), and don't forget your mask and water bottle.
