Be a part of Hernando's first oyster reef restoration project! We are in need of volunteers to help fill oyster bags.
Volunteers needed March 11, 2018. There are two different shifts available on this day. Opportunity is limited to the first 40 volunteers who sign up through this link. Please fill out registration for event plus registration for ONE free shirt.
What to expect: Each event will span for two hours. Volunteers will be using shovels to fill bags with recycled oyster shell. Bags will then be loaded for transport.
What to wear: Volunteers must wear close-toed shoes. Jeans recommended but not required.
What to Bring: Please bring a pair of heavy duty gloves - oyster shells are sharp! Water bottle, insect repellent, sun glasses, sunscreen/prevention.
Location: We will be filling the bags in the county lot next to the Hernando Beach Water Tower. This is a dirt road off Shoal Line Blvd. The closest address to this tower on Google Maps is 4500 Shoal Line Blvd., Spring Hill.
