Troop 178 Scouts, Parents and Leaders:
We need your help to carry the flag in the Pumpkin festival parade on Saturday, September 19th. Several members of our troop will be marching with the High School and Junior High School bands or helping with garbage cleanup at the festival which reduces the number of scouts available to help with the flag. If you aren’t already walking in the parade, please consider supporting the troop by participating in this great event and representing scouting to the many parade watchers.
THE DETAILS:
For the 14th straight year, Troop 178 will be walking in the Pumpkin Festival parade and carrying "the Big Flag." We need Scouts and parents to help.
NEEDED: Scouts and Parents
WHEN: Saturday, September 19, 2015. Please arrive at 9:45 -10 am (parade starts at 10:30)
WHERE: We will be very close to the front of the parade –(waiting on confirmation of the exact position in the parade) Meet near the corner of Nebraska and Jefferson, by Lincoln School.
OTHER INFO: The parade will end by the Post Office on Jefferson; we will continue on to the Knights of Columbus on David Street (the street behind the Post Office), where Scouts can be picked up. Transportation will not be provided back to Lincoln School. Make sure your Scout knows where he is supposed to be and who he is supposed to meet.
Wear Class A uniforms (neckerchief, socks, pants, belt, hat...whatever you have; look sharp, the whole town will be watching) and shoes that you will be comfortable walking in for the length of the parade route.
If you haven’t participated in the Pumpkin Festival parade in the past, please be aware that driving and parking near the start of the parade route can be tricky. Give yourself enough time to drive through the traffic, locate a parking spot and walk to our gathering spot by 10 am.
