Randall's Island Park Alliance (RIPA) joins forces with Riverkeeper to raise funds and awareness to protect the beautiful waterways, wetlands, and recreational areas of Randall's Island Park. Since 1992, RIPA has helped to restore 330 acres of parkland, including 20 acres of natural areas (of which 9 acres are wetlands), 9 miles of pathways and 4.5 miles of shoreline. Run the River 5K will be Saturday October 24, 2015, volunteers are needed to distribute water to participants along the race course.
Please plan to arrive to Randall's Island by 9am and to stay until 11am when the race concludes. As a volunteer, you are more then welcome to stick around and participate in the rockin’ Post-Race Party – with musical entertainment and light refreshments.
