1st Annual Kalihi Ahupua’a Bike Ride

Ride Starts @ Ho'oulu 'Āina, 9:00am-12pm (7.8 Miles)
Thanks to the generous contribution of the Chamber of Commerce Hawaii, Kokua Kalihi Valley and KVIBE are excited to announce Hawai'i's newest storytelling bicycle ride, our first annual Kalihi Ahupua'a Ride! This family-friendly ride 7.8 mile Ride will lead riders through the culturally rich Ahupuaʻa of Kalihi, making important “Story Stops” at historical landmarks where riders will learn and experience Kalihi.
During the Kalihi Ahupuaʻa Ride, participants will learn about the cultural and historical significance of landmarks in our ahupua'a. Learn about Kalihi's "Mount Olympus", Kilohana. Ride down to the oldest bike shop in Kalihi. Stand at the site of the ancient Loko Ananoho, an abundant 52-acre Hawaiian fishpond.
Here are descriptions of some of the responsibilities:
VOLUNTEER CHECK IN-- check in volunteers and brief them on volunteer location/tasks (Stationed at Ho'oulu 'Aina)
TENT SET-UP-- set up 10x10 tent, set up 6' folding table, set out refreshments
TENT BREAK DOWN--break down tent, fold up 6' folding table, clean up refreshments
SIGN-INS / SIGN-UPS--check in registered riders, distribute and collect last minute rider registrations
SIGN WAVING--fun, energetic volunteers to alert drivers to share the road with aloha
