1 Mason Road, Brookline NH, 03033
Setup (Hard Labor): Set up canopy, firepit, chairs, tables, food. We need sandwiches made and cut into quarters. We need fruit sliced and diced. We need soda opened (to start defizzing). It is always nice to make the aid station look as nice as possible. Also, as the race goes on, and particularly at night, we will be adding decorations at the aid stations and on the trail.
Aid Station: As runners come into the aid station, they may hand you their water bottles or camelbaks and ask you to fill them. They may want water, tailwind drink, or a specific mixture of both. They may ask for specific items- food, band-aids, salt tabs, etc. They may want you to lie to them and tell them they look great. They may just want a sympathetic ear. Basically, you will be part cheerleader, psychiatrist, motivational speaker, and dietitian. Also, tend to the firepit and carry supplies (light) when needed.
Registration: Check off runners as they come in, hand them their bib, on Sunday for the 15 mile/relay race race-day registrations, take their money or check (made out to “TARC")
Parking: Wear a nice orange vest and direct cars. Try and park the cars tight to maximize spots.
Break-down and Clean-up: More Hard Labor. Everything needs to be broken down and packed away, decorations and glow sticks retrieved from the trail, and at the end of the race the trail should look like nothing ever took place there.
