Open Streets Watsonville will be held on Sunday, June 2, 2019, from 11am-4pm in the historic downtown Watsonville on Brennan/Union St. from Callaghan Park (Freedom Blvd.) to the City Plaza. Volunteer lunch will be provided. Visit scopenstreets.org for more information about the event.
Please note that there will be a required volunteer training meeting on Tuesday, May 28th from 6-7:30pm at the Marinovich Community Center in downtown Watsonville (120 2nd Street). Pizza, drinks, and event t-shirt will be provided. If you cannot make the meeting, alternative arrangements can be made.
Pre-event help: Volunteer in the office to work on signage and other needs. Flexible scheduling- let us know when you're available!
Set-up: set up tables, barricades, canopies, bike racks, etc. Help additionally as needed. Should be mobile and able to lift.
Crossing Guard: Help cross pedestrians at intersections where streets are not blocked off *Must be 18 years or older*
Traffic Monitor: Direct and coordinate vehicle exits from selected parking lots. *Must be 18 years or older*
Flex: Fill in where needed. Deliver water/food to volunteers. Roam the course and ask attendees to complete surveys. Help out with additional tasks. *Must bring wheels (bike, skateboard, roller blades, etc. NOT car/motorcycle)*
Breakdown: Break down tables, canopies, bike racks, etc. Collect signs. Pick up litter. Help as needed.
