Tree Planting at Eastmoreland Golf Course on Sunday, December 2nd signup sheet

WHAT: Join Crystal Springs Partnership for a three-hour work party planting 25 - five gallon container stock trees to plant and cage in the riparian area on Crystal Springs creek upstream of the RR Bridge on the Eastmoreland Golf Course. The trees will shade the creek and help keep the water temperature cool enough for salmon, steelhead and trout which inhabit the creek. The purchase of the trees was made possible thanks to a grant from the City of Portland that was awarded to the CSP and the Johnson Creek Watershed Council when City Council designated Crystal Springs Creek the city's first Salmon Sanctuary.

We will meet at the Eastmoreland Golf Course clubhouse at 9:am, in the back of he parking lot by the chain link gate (the golf course manager will let us through). We will walk about 300 yards up the service road along the RR tracks to the worksite which is behind the driving range. As usual for these things, dress for the weather, wear sturdy shoes, etc. We will provide gloves and tools but feel free to bring your own favorite shovel, mattock or whatever. Coffee, tea, and snacks provided. Children welcome with a responsible adult (we're working on a streambank).

WHEN: Sunday, December. 2, 9:00 AM to noon

WHERE: 2425 SE Bybee Blvd.

This work party is a joint project of the Crystal Springs Partnership and the Johnson Creek Watershed Council.
