This is where we're trying to coordinate all the people needed to make 6th grade Halloween at AMS an amazing time for our kids!
Basically, if you can commit to a time slot, please do. But if you haven't signed up, then find you can spend any time at all helping out with setup or cleanup, please do so anyway! If you'll be at school picking up your kids, jump on in to clean up for 10 minutes - it might not seem like much, but it truly makes a difference! Feel free to pitch in wherever it looks like people need help, or you can check in with Amy Yamashiro for identified needs.
10/30 - MONDAY NIGHT 3pm-9pm: The festivities start with Haunted House setup! This broadly also includes any other decorating and prep that can be done in advance. Whenever you can arrive, please do, as the fun will continue until it's done! If you sign up for this, you'll receive contact information for Shannon Hicks, our intrepid Haunted House Meister, so you can coordinate your timing for arrival/departure.
10/31 - TUESDAY 12:15pm: 6th grade lunch starts at 12:15, which is when our first wave of volunteers will start decorating the hallways.
10/31 - TUESDAY 12:30-12:45: anyone staffing the Halloween festivities should arrive in this window to make sure you know where you're supposed to be and what you'll be doing.
10/31 - TUESDAY 1pm: 6th grade lunch ends, which means that chaos begins. There will be assorted crafts, parties in all classrooms, pumpkin carving, game rooms, dancing, and a photo booth. And adults needed to staff/monitor all stations.
10/31 - TUESDAY 3pm: Halloween festivities end. Kids start getting ready to leave school, and adults start cleaning up as quickly as possible. If you can't make it until the end of school, you can still pitch in ;) Many hands make light work, so yours are appreciated!
The kids really look forward to this annual event, and its success is directly dependent upon adult volunteers - thank you for helping make this happen!
