Donate furniture to help a Syrian family to start their new home in Edmonton: signup sheet
UPDATE: For smaller items, please drop off at CAFE (7-266) as soon as possible. We have moved most everything into the apartment and expect the family any day now. For larger items, please contact Mavis at LeungM8@macewan.ca as soon as possible. Also, please check back often since we are continually updating this list as we add more needed items.
MacEwan Community Refugee Project (MCRP) is a grassroots group of faculty, staff and students from MacEwan University who have come together to sponsor a Syrian refugee family.
As a family’s sponsor, our volunteers will be the family’s advocates and support network as they adjust to their new life in Canada. In addition to fundraising and providing financial support, we are developing a settlement plan to welcome this family, orient them to life in their new community, secure housing and employment, navigate the healthcare and education systems, and access any other necessary services.
Your donation will help the family start their new home and life in Edmonton. Together we can make a difference in these families’ lives by helping them get a new start and the chance to know the safety and opportunity we so often take for granted in Canada.
