High Falls Tree Planting on the Coxing Kill signup sheet

DATE/TIME: October 18th at 10AM (latecomers and partial day volunteers all welcome).

WHAT: We have about 100 tree to plant. And if there is time, we also need to give TLC to some of the 500 trees we planted in the last year. For novices, expert help will be available.

WHAT TO WEAR: Something you don't mind getting a bit dirty. Also a hat. And comfortable shoes for planting that you don't mind getting wet. This year the planting will be done on the side of the stream closest to the road, so you will not be crossing a shallow stream (unless you decide to help out checking the trees that were planted in prior years and are now strong enough and tall enough to have their protective tubing removed.)

If you prefer dry feet, you can bring boots (wellies, for example) for crossing a shallow stream. (We might be able to loan footwear depending on sizes.)

HOW TO COME: From New York City: Adirondack Trailways bus leaving NYC from the Port Authority to Rosendale NY. We will pick you up at the bus station.The journey is 90 miles and the trip takes about an hour and 45 minutes. If you have a car and are willing to share a ride to High Falls, NY let us know. Driving instructions and bus instructions are available on request.

FOOD: Bring your own snacks. and we will supply lunch (sandwiches) and a celebratory bbq dinner to honor our day's labor (vegetarian options available).
