WISEST welcomes all U of A students, staff and faculty to come and help us inspire grade 6 girls with a love for science, engineering, technology and math! The CHOICES Conference will be held on Tuesday February 19 & Wednesday February 20, 2019.
Typically, our Campus Ambassador Volunteers assist in leading groups of students and teachers to various activities on campus. See below for General Volunteer Position descriptions. Enter your information below for the role(s) you are interested in and we will be in touch to see how you can help at our 2019 CHOICES Conference! If you fill out this form, please do not also sign up on the Science Activity volunteer form.
Who is best for these roles: U of A undergraduate students, graduate students, PhD students, alumni, and high school students.
General Volunteer Role Descriptions:
PREPARATION: On a case-by-case basis, help with miscellaneous activities i.e. prepping materials, putting together packages, inventory
SCHOOL REGISTRATION: Put up signage outside and set up of Campus Ambassador Signs. School registration begins at 8:30. Move materials over to CAB desk at 10:00
VOLUNTEER REGISTRATION AM: Register volunteers in CAB, hand out volunteer supplies, collect volunteer waivers
LUNCH AND LARGE GROUP ACTIVITY SET UP: Help set up and maintain volunteer lunch, clean up lunch, help with large group activity set up in CCIS, set up signs in CHEM halls. Some volunteers will be supervising a classroom of students
VOLUNTEER REGISTRATION PM: Monitor registration desk, collect activity supplies being returned, clean up
PHOTOGRAPHER: Take photos of the event throughout the day
All volunteers will receive a complimentary lunch! We will send out another form closer to the conference. Please disregard lunch options down below.
