Noon Hour Supervision – Grade K-12
Guidelines for Parents (On duty from 12:05 – 1:20 pm)
AS A NOON HOUR SUPERVISION VOLUNTEER YOU MUST:
Enter and exit the building through the main doors ONLY.
Wash/Sanitize upon entry.
Report to Reception: sign in/out on the Daily Visitor Log.
Put on a safety vest (by the gym entrance) and proceed down the elementary hallway for instruction.
********If the temperature is -27 with the wind outdoor recess moves indoors. If the temperature reaches that, Noon Hour Supervisors will take care of supervision indoors. ********
1. Please arrive at 12:05 pm for your shift.
2. Please sign in at the reception desk.
3. Put on your florescent vest. Vests are located in the Commons Area in a bucket on top of the boot rack labelled “Ready for Use”.
4. Proceed to the elementary school hallway and a teacher will assign you to specific classrooms to check in on while the students are eating.
5. After the students are done eating a supervisor will be stationed at each the elementary and middle years playgrounds.
6. If a child requires medical attention or needs to be brought into the school, the supervisor should bring the child to the supervising teacher.
7. Please refrain from socializing and cell phone use (emergency use only). Our main focus for this hour is the safety of the students.
8. During recess and lunch supervision the following grades are to be in the following areas:
Grade 5 - 8 North field and play structure
Grade K - 3 South field and play structure
Grade 4 get to be in either zone
Grades 4 - 6 can be in front of the school
9. Shifts end at 1:20 pm. Place your vest in the “Needs Cleaning” bucket and sign out at the reception desk.

SIGNING UP FOR NOON HOUR SUPERVISION
While volunteer hours are no longer tracked at SCS we strongly value parents getting involved and think noon hour supervision is a great way to stay connected with the school. Feel free to sign up once or everyday :). Mr. Murray Long will have teachers scheduled to assist in noon hour supervision daily but having parents will make their jobs easier. Thank you for volunteering in this way. If your availability changes and you are not able to do a shift please email me directly and I will remove you from the schedule. The volunteer site will email you a day or two ahead to remind you when you are scheduled.
