2016/2017 SVEF Volunteer Postions signup sheet

If you have time, now is the time to join the Scotts Valley Educational Foundation and make a real difference for the students in our district! We are currently seeking volunteers with skills in fundraising, marketing, sales, graphics design and leadership to join our board. We are also seeking volunteers with time to give (a few minutes, weekly, monthly, or as needed) to help with various events or projects when needed.

Vice President - Attend all SVEF board meetings and assist President as needed. This position prepares to take over the President position in the next year

Secretary/Director of Governance Co-Chair - Keep a book of minutes of all meetings, proceedings and actions of the Board. Keep records of current SVEF documentation including Bylaws. The Secretary reviews and maintains Bylaws and assists with board elections

Vice President of Fundraising - Oversees all of the fundraising activities and overall strategy. Creates fundraising goals for each year and works closely with Event Chairs to supervise, support and advise. Ensures Event Chairs understand the scope of their event and the budgetary restrictions. Makes recommendations for future fundraising events and strategies

Database Administrator- Responsible for entering the data of all donations, volunteers to the database. The Database Administrator also supports all the fundraising activities by providing information, such as, mailing labels and producing donation receipts. Prepares and mails monthly donation thank you letters

Volunteer Coordinator - The Volunteer Coordinator manages all elements of volunteering within the SVEF. Assesses SVEF needs through the recruitment, placement and retention of volunteers. Manages, monitors and evaluates volunteers. Creates and maintains a volunteer appreciation program for retention. Works closely with fundraising Event Chairs to fill event volunteer needs. Creates and maintains event volunteer websites when needed.

Director of Marketing - The Director of Marketing is responsible for all marketing functions for all programs throughout the year in which the SVEF is engaged, including collateral, social media, newsletters, papers, presentations and reports. The Director of Marketing establishes and implements a coordinated messaging strategy. The Director of Marketing is responsible for maintaining a consistent presence and branding on all Foundation materials (logo, colors, font, style, etc.). Supervises, supports and advises all marketing committee chairs.

Community Partnership Program Director - The Community Partnership Program Director develops and supervises business outreach strategies and specific programs to enlist corporate sponsorship. Oversees all aspects of corporate sponsorship including outreach, communication, ensuring SVEF meets sponsorship commitments, monthly communication with sponsors, thank you letters and solicitation of feedback

Director of District Programs - The Director of District Programs is responsible for working with SVUSD and the parent community to develop and solicit a list of grant proposals that have a significant beneficial impact on the education of all children in Scotts Valley. This includes investigating educational needs and matching to community fundraising potential. Another key responsibility is to work with Marketing Committee Members to ensure maximum exposure of the funded programs to the parent community. The Director of District Programs, along with the President is responsible for representing the foundation at numerous events and meetings.

Mountain Charlie Challenge Event Chair - Serve as the Event Leader overseeing the event from start to finish. Organize/recruit, motivate and lead a committee of volunteers for the event. Collateral/U.S. Mailing - Responsible for all collateral including letters, brochures, newsletters, and the annual report that are sent to the donor community through U.S. mail. Performs and/or coordinates the creative and design efforts of graphic designers and text writers with the distribution channel in order to deliver the materials through U.S. mail to the donor community

Marketing: Social Media - Responsible for distribution of all Foundation collateral through social media. Works closely with Board and Committee members. Create strategies for content, promotion, engagement and conversion. When possible, measure and analyze to determine ROI. Works closely with committee members to implement day-to-day and fundraising social media strategies

Marketing: Public Relations Co-Chair - Responsible for creating press releases, press kits and the relationship with the local media, Press Banner, Scotts Valley Times, Scotts Valley Patch, as well as any regional newspapers and television and radio stations. Will present to local organizations, as needed. Together with the Secretary, keeps a library of all the current and past collateral.

Marketing: Writer - Writer and/or editor for collateral including, but not limited to, brochure copy, newsletter copy, letters, press releases, electronic copy for website – articles and/or white papers, e-mail letters, and Friday Folder Flyers/School Flyers text copy

Marketing: Principal Graphics Designer - Duties include maintaining the SVEF logo and “look and feel” of all collateral, including, but not limited to, brochures, newsletters, websites, e-mails, social media and Friday Folder flyers/School Flyers. Coordinates all graphics for the year with logo(s) for all SVEF activities including fundraising events.
