Open Streets turns streets into safe, fun places for walking, bicycling, dancing, and other activities. During Open Streets Knoxville (OSK), the Homburg area in Bearden will be filled with people of all ages and abilities. In order to ensure the success of this event we will need volunteers. Volunteers will be provided free food and also be entered to win prizes among other volunteers. We are recruiting volunteers for a couple of different positions:

Intersection Monitor: Will stand guard at the intersection of Kingston Pike and Mohican and ensure the safe crossing of attendees.

Information booth: Will be responsible for checking in volunteers, distributing t-shirts to volunteers and handbooks, answering questions, and managing the lost and found.

Mobile supporters: Will walk around their respective zone and wear an OSK shirt that says something along the lines of "Ask me anything". May have to fill in for people if they need bathroom breaks.

Third shift: Starting at 6pm you'll switch from your primary task to gathering signs, removing tents and tables from the street.

As you may have noticed there are 3 zones for our event! If you sign up for a position in Zone 1 please meet sign in at the intersection of Mohican/Sutherland. For Zone 2, please sign in at Whittaker/Mohican. For Zone 3, please sign in at Whittaker and Homberg. I will email all volunteers next week to remind them of their responsibilities and information on how to arrive to the event.
