Byrd Tic Toc Art Docent -- Volunteer to Be in Your Child's Classroom signup sheet

UPDATE 11/15/2018: BYRD Tic Toc program has OPTED OUT of receiving and displaying special collections (artifacts/art objects other than paintings) for the remainder of 2018-2019 school year. If you would like to do a presentation on a particular special collection, please, let us know and we can coordinate borrowing necessary items.

Tic Toc Art Docent program brings in artwork to participating schools. It is parent volunteers who bring the artwork into the classrooms. For more information on the program and expectations for the Art Docents, please, go to Byrd HSA website and follow the link on the left-hand side. We are so happy to know that you are interested in volunteering as an Art Docent in one of the classrooms. Sign-ups below are grouped by class and then by date. Dates that you can sign up for correspond to the rotation of the art collections.

Feel free to sign-up for more than one spot. Unless you have your eye on a particular collection or have substantial time limitations, please, try to sign up so presentations in each class are spread throughout the year. A few weeks before you plan to go into the class, please, REACH OUT TO THE TEACHER DIRECTLY TO SCHEDULE AN ACTUAL TIME TO PRESENT. Presentation and project should usually take 45-50 minutes. If you are signing up to do a project with a friend, just have one of you sign up for the dates of your choice.

For your reference, these are the collections that are scheduled to be at Byrd this year (painting collections are abbreviated Col. # ).

2) 10/25-12/12 Col. 9(Expressionism), Col. 10(Surrealism), Sp. Col. Japan (thru 11/15)

4) 1/24-2/27 Col. 11(Contemporary), Col. 13(Let’s Have Some Fun)
5) 2/28-4/10 Col. 13(Let’s Have Some Fun), Col. 14(Flowers)
6) 4/11-5/15 Col. 14(Flowers), Col 15(Iconic Paintings)
7) 5/16-6/12 Col. 15(Iconic Paintings), Col 16(Isn’t Love Grand)

Paintings are displayed in 1st and 2nd grade hallways (you can take them off to take with you to the class; just put them back).
