Edmonds Driftwood Players is seeking actors for their upcoming production of the award-winning Broadway musical, The Addams Family.
Audition Dates
Saturday, January 26, 2019 from 12:00 – 3:30 pm and Sunday, January 27, 2019 from 2:00 – 5:00 pm.
Audition Location
Edmonds Driftwood Players Rehearsal Annex, 200 Dayton Street, Edmonds, WA 98020.
What to Prepare
Headshot and resume required, plus an approximately 32-bar musical selection from the Broadway canon and 1 to 2-minute contemporary monologue. Songs in the style of the musical are recommended. Please do not sing a song from The Addams Family. A piano accompanist will be provided, so please come with sheet music for your song. Recorded accompaniments are permitted, but must be provided in MP3 format on a USB stick formatted for PC use. Recorded accompaniments must contain instrumental accompaniment only, without the vocal.

Rehearsal Dates
February 18 – April 11, 2019. Rehearsal schedule will be finalized after casting and are generally held on Monday through Thursday evenings from 7:00 – 10:00 pm, as well as weekend days and times as needed. Actors cast in the show may not be called to every rehearsal.
Performance Dates
This production plays at The Wade James Theatre, home of Edmonds Driftwood Players, 950 Main Street, Edmonds, WA 98020 on Thursdays through Sundays (17 shows total) from April 12 – May 5, 2019. Performances are Thursdays – Saturdays at 8:00 pm and Sundays at 2:00 pm. Saturday, April 20 and Saturday, May 4 have 2:00pm shows in addition to the 8:00pm performances those evenings.
ABOUT THE SHOW
Wednesday Addams, the ultimate princess of darkness, has grown up and fallen in love with a sweet, smart young man from a respectable family – a man her parents have never met. And if that weren’t upsetting enough, Wednesday confides in her father and begs him not to tell her mother. Now, Gomez Addams must do something he’s never done before – keep a secret from his beloved wife, Morticia. Everything will change for the whole family on the fateful night they host a dinner for Wednesday’s “normal” boyfriend and his parents.

GOMEZ ADDAMS: The patriarch of the Addams clan, Gomez is puckish, slightly misguided, and highly sentimental. He is ardently devoted to his wife.

ALICE BEINEKE: Chirpy mother of Lucas. Although she likes to rhyme and spout happy poems at random, Alice’s sweet demeanor hides a deep discontent.
