GUTENBERG! THE MUSICAL!
Written by Scott Brown & Anthony King
Directed by Shileah Corey and produced by Ted Jaquith
In this two-man (or two-person) musical spoof, a pair of aspiring playwrights perform a backers’ audition for their new project - a big, splashy musical about printing press inventor Johann Gutenberg. With an unending supply of enthusiasm, Bud and Doug sing all the songs and play all the parts in their crass historical epic, with the hope that one of the producers in attendance will give them a Broadway contract.
Audition instructions: Please bring an updated resume, a current headshot and prepare a comic song (verse/chorus or 32 bars) AND a comic monologue/scene/story (2 minutes or less.) Please show us as many different characters as possible within that time frame.
Ages 20-40(ish) - Any gender welcome to apply.
Auditions will be held February 2 from 6:30-8:30 and February 3 from 11:00 am-2:00pm in the Rehearsal Annex at 200 Dayton Street, Edmonds. There is no stipend available for this production.
Callbacks will be February 4 by invitation only. Rehearsals begin early April.
Performances will be held May 18-20.
