CALLING ALL VOLUNTEERS!!!
We need YOU for Bike to School Day on Thursday, May 11th!!!
Volunteer Role: Be the point of contact for your school and Safe Routes to School staff to coordinate event. Set up Welcome Table and check in students before school on Bike to School Day! Provide encouragement and incentives to participating students. It is that simple!
How to Run a Welcome Table:
-Set up the Welcome Table about 30-45 minutes before school begins on May 11th.
-All materials needed will be delivered to your school in a B2SD Package a week or two before the event.
-Place the table in a visible area where students will know to check in (next to the bike racks, front office, or main quad are good locations).
-If students rode their bike, scooter, skateboard, or walked to school, make sure they write their first name, last name, and grade, and circle their mode of transportation on the sign-in sheet. This enters the students into the grand prize raffle so please make sure they sign in and that the sheets are not lost!
-Return sign-in sheets via interdistrict mail (Aly Hite-NCOE SRTS) or email (ahite@napacoe.org).
-Grand raffle prizes will be delivered to the winners the week after the event.
Day-of incentives:
Stickers
Pencils
Bookmarks
Coloring sheets with crayons
Light-up Reflectors
Raffle Grand Prizes:
Elementary School- Dynacraft Bikes
Middle School- Caliber Long Boards
High School-$20 Clipper Cards
All- Multi Sport Helmets
With only two paid staff we are incapable of being at every school. That’s why we need YOU to help make our program run successfully! We just need a dedicated member of the community to be present and assist to run Bike to School Day at their school.
All volunteers will receive a Starbucks gift card in exchange for their time. Volunteers will also be invited to an Appreciation Dinner in mid-June where we will raffle off several amazing prizes to show our gratitude. Some prizes to be given away at the dinner are:
-Hot Air Balloon Ride (for 2 people)
-Napa Valley Wine Train (2 dinner tickets)
-Silverado Resort Golf Pass (1 round for 2 people)
