Hello Tiny House Volunteers!

On Thursday, June 29th, we will be having a volunteer build party at Licton Springs Village to help build communal tent platforms, finish two tiny houses for residency. Licton Springs Village is nearing completion - with a total of 30 tiny houses, plumbed showers, and electricity to each unit. These last additions will help to increase the capacity of the village, as well as set up overflow dorm tents to help those experiencing homelessness in the immediate neighborhood of the camp.

We will be starting at 10:00am and working until 3:00pm. Lunch will be provided (along with vegetarian and gluten free options).

Project - Platform Construction: We will be framing platforms that will be combined to create a large, 15x20 platform resting on pier blocks. Experience with a hammer is useful, but no professional construction experience required!
Project - Shed Construction: Building this shed will take some patience and proficiency with instructions, but it is not a construction job and can accommodate any skill level!
Project - House #1 Build: This will take some carpentry experience to hang the door and finish the trim
Project - Ramp Painting: This will be a fun and potentially messy project, so bring clothes that can get paint on them! We have a brand new ramp for our shower unit that needs painting, and we will need hands to help.
Tools - If you have any of the tools listed below, please sign up and bring them!

Licton Springs Village is a Tiny House Village community that has been in operation since the beginning of April, 2017. It currently provides shelter for about 50 people, all of whom were formerly living outdoors in Seattle and have been referred by city outreach workers. The village is located at 8620 Aurora Ave. N., Seattle WA 98103. Parking is available in the surrounding neighborhood, though materials and tools can be dropped off at the site, which can be accessed from Aurora Ave.
